Yes. In Zermatt, you can generally get around well with a pushchair. Some hiking trails are expressly suitable for pushchairs, for example the Furiweg. For pushchairs with large wheels, the forest path from Tufteren to Zermatt is also suitable.

At Hotel Julen, the nearest ATM is located on the corner by Bäckerei Fuchs on the opposite side of the road.

At Hotel Alpenhof, there is an ATM in Denner, about 5 minutes' walk away. Further cash machines can be found on Bahnhofstrasse at various banks, about 7 minutes' walk from the hotel.

In Zermatt, the same traffic rules generally apply as in the rest of Switzerland. At many junctions, “priority to the right” applies. Bahnhofstrasse is closed to electric vehicles and bicycles.

Yes. There are medical practices in Zermatt as well as two dentists. However, there is no hospital and no paediatrician in Zermatt. The nearest hospital and a paediatrician are in Visp. If needed, reception will be happy to help organise a doctor's appointment.

Yes, a specific seating request can certainly be made. However, table allocation is carried out by the service team and depends on availability.

Yes. In all three restaurants there is a special children's menu with dishes for children.

Yes, we can gladly organise a birthday cake. Please order this at least 3 days in advance. The price is approx. CHF 12.00 per person. For reservations with half board, we surprise the birthday child with a nicely decorated dessert. In this case, no cake needs to be ordered separately.

No. An invoice with billing address can only be issued on the same day. The restaurant consumption must therefore be paid for at reception on the same day.

Larger groups can be reserved on request by e-mail.

  • Restaurant Schäferstube: Groups of up to 14 people. Reservations are possible à la carte and subject to the two service times.
  • Restaurant Julen: Groups of up to 20 people. You can reserve à la carte or with a set menu option, ideal also for family and company celebrations.
  • Restaurant Im Hof: In summer, groups of up to 30 people. Reservations are only possible with set menu options, also for smaller budgets. In winter, no group reservations are offered at Restaurant Im Hof.

Yes, all three restaurants are accessible for wheelchair users. They can be reached either by lift or via a ramp.

For coeliac disease, unfortunately we cannot guarantee a completely gluten-free preparation. None of our kitchens has separate preparation areas for allergy sufferers, which means that cross-contamination cannot be ruled out.

As we also make our own bread and our own pasta, flour dust may also be present in our kitchens.
For this reason, our restaurants are unfortunately not suitable for guests with coeliac disease.

Yes, of course! In all three restaurants, we can cater for gluten and lactose intolerances. Please inform us of your intolerances when making your reservation or on site, so that we can prepare accordingly.

Yes, you are very welcome to bring dogs into the restaurant and bar.
