Experience Blacknose sheep up close

Sheep barn visit of the Julen tradition

An experience that is very close to the Julen tradition and our alpine home: Join the Julen family on a visit to our sheep barn on the outskirts of Zermatt.

With around 300 Valais Blacknose sheep , the Julen family owns one of the largest breeding flocks of this special Valais sheep breed in the world. On the sheep barn visit, you will have the opportunity to get to know the animals up close and learn more about how they are kept and life on the farm.

A look behind the scenes

During your visit, you will be personally welcomed by a member of the Julen family. You will learn how farming, tourism and our biogas plant are interconnected and what contribution this natural cycle makes to our lived sustainability.

Of course, there will also be time to watch the animals, take photos and – depending on the season – pet some of the cuddly sheep.

Enjoyment is part of it

To round off the visit, a cosy apéro with farm-produced specialities awaits you. Try cheese, dried meat and sausages from our own farm and taste a piece of genuine Zermatt tradition.
