Our beautiful black-nosed sheep - true Zermatters - will certainly take your heart by storm! Especially when you meet them in nature, where they feel most at home. You can hardly decide whether the animals are just incredibly cute or rather really imposing. It's probably both, because the white fur with the black spots and the googly eyes contrast with the spiral-shaped, imposing horns.
From July to September 2021, our "black noses" graze at the foot of the Matterhorn, on the Gornergrat. Would you like to visit them? No problem! To make it easy for you to find the animals, they will be wearing GPS-tracked collars as of this summer. Use the app to track the sheep's signal and follow the path. The shepherdess, who accompanies the flock throughout the summer and is looking forward to your visit on the Gornergrat, will also be happy to answer all your questions about the animals.
More information about the "Meet the Sheep" can be found here.
Tickets can be purchased at the reception during your stay. The shepherdess can be met with the sheep Tuesdays to Sundays, an exact time will be given to you on site.
